US companies don't use fixers in the US (though I ask myself what they do when they shoot abroad). They tend to just use small production companies or a production manager. In my experience and research among UK media entities, there really isn't anyone in the US who combines all services like a true fixer: i.e. securing all production gear, necessary production crew, location scouting, securing permits, and booking interviews, accommodations/travel etc.

If you're looking to fill a specific position for a project in LA, (like a director or a studio editor,) a good resource is www.craigslist.org - a widely used site in the US; especially within the art/music/media industries.
